“Randy Red's Reads” Come From?

Why choose the name Randy Red's Reads?! Well, let me tell you a little, funny story about my parents. Apparently, CB radios were common to have in the boating/camping community in the 70s and 80s. When my parents first got together, my dad thought it would be funny to give my mom the CB handle of Randy Red. My sweet, naïve, red-headed mom didn't know what “randy” meant till another trucker filled her in, but at that point, it was too late, and she was known as Randy Red. In my dad's defense, he didn't think he and my mom would be together very long. 41 years later, my mom just shook her head at my dad.

My mom was an avid reader, and she passed on what I would say is a love of books to me… I'm working on being better about reading my TBR pile… haha, but many of my fondest memories of my mom when I was young include going to Waldenbooks in the Greeley Mall as well as the Centennial Library (her library of choice).

It's my great honor to choose the name Randy Red's Reads as the name of my mobile bookshop to celebrate the reader/book lover my mom was. Her legacy will continue to live on in this cute, little shop. I'm so excited to spread a love of reading/books to the Northern Colorado community!! The Triple R, as I'm lovingly nicknaming the shop, is so happy you're here!!
